Location - Pumula is a family owned rustic and lived-in mountain log-house with a thatched roof, and is nestled at the foot hills of the Central Drakensberg near Champagne Castle Hotel. It is within the World Heritage Site (UKhahlamba), where there is the combination of sheer natural beauty and wealth of biological diversity and has magnificent views of the Drakensberg, especially Cathkin Peak, Sterkhorn and Champagne Castle in the background.
Tariff - Holiday season currently (3 2015) – Minimum fee from R880 for the cottage/night up to 4 people. Groups more than 4 people are R165.00 p p extra per night. Minimum booking period is 3 days. Minimum booking period for long weekends are 3 days. Out of season (non holidays and non-long weekends) – Minimum fee for the cottage /night is R440 up to 4 people. Groups more than 4 are from R110 p p extra per night. Minimum booking period is 2 days
Activities – Hiking, some trails are in age old indigenous forests dotted with streams waterfalls and pools. Others are in the open on the grassy plains and display panoramic views of the mountains. In the nearby vicinity (5 - 10 minutes driving) there is a championship golf course at Champagne sports resort, birds of prey demonstrations at Falcon ridge, concerts at the world renowned Drakensberg Boys Choir school as well as quad biking, tree canopy tours, micro light flights, river rafting and a number of shops selling clothing, health products, curios, art and crafts, jewellery and more.

To reach Pumula - In Winterton take the road to the Central Drakensberg towards Champagne Castle Hotel, about 33km further. Near the Berg, look out for a ‘Pumula’ sign (with other signs on the right hand side just after passing the sign ‘Ondini’ about 500m before Champagne Castle Hotel. Shortly after turning right, turn left and pass a cottage on your right-hand side. Carry on uphill and go straight to the gate of Pumula (under the surname Verster).
